Colleen Hoover | Inspiring story of the American author

Margaret Colleen Fennell is also known by her pen name Colleen Hoover was born on 11 December 1979 in Texas. She is a famous author in the young adult genre and has more than 20 books published. She published her first novel Slammed in 2012.

Early Life

Colleen Hoover was born in Sulpher Springs, Texas in the house of Vannoy Fite and Eddie Fennell. She completed he school education at Saltillo High School and her college degree at Texas A&M Commerce. Hoover has a degree in Social Work. 

In 2000, she married Heath Hoover, the couple has three sons together.

Career

Colleen Hoover wrote her first novel Slammed because she got inspired by a song lyric “decide what to be and go be it.” She had no intention of getting the book published but then her book got a five-star rating from a book blogger. In 2012, Slammed got published and reached #8 in the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Later, Hoover decided to make a whole series for her debut novel. After a few months, the second and third book in the series Point of Retreat and The Girl was published.

Hoover’s work got prominent on TikTok under the hashtag #booktok. In 2014, she published The Cinderella Story which she says is her version of Cinderella.

Colleen Hoover’s career took a drastic turn in 2016 when she published her well-known novel It Ends With Us. Hoover has dedicated the book to her parents, a story about domestic violence and child abuse. It Ends With Us is a very personal story to Colleen. The book went #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list and remained there for weeks, it is one of Colleen Hoover’s most renowned works. She describes it as one of her hardest written works. Recently, Hoover took to her social media handle and announced that It Ends With Us is now also becoming a major motion picture. Hoover has also announced that there will be a sequel to It Ends With Us called It Starts With Us, it will be released in October this year.
