Kriti Kharbanda is an Indian Model and actress working since 2009, predominantly in Kannada, Hindi and Telugu films. She begun her journey as a model and after appearing on the Spar Billboard, She made her debut with the Telugu Film Boni. Up till 2016, Kriti worked for Kannada and Telugu films. Post that she made her Bollywood debut with the film Raaz: Reboot in 2016.

Early life

Born on 29 October 1990, Kriti Kharbanda is the daughter of Ashwani and Rajni Kharbanda. Belonging to Bangalore, she grew up in a family of five, her parents, sister Ishita and brother Jaiwardhan, who is the co-founder of Paper Plane Productions.
Kriti did her higher schooling from Baldwin Girls High School. Post which she attended Bishop Cotton Girls’ School before graduating from Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College.

Career

Kriti Kharbanda made her debut with the Telugu Film Boni, alongside Sumanth. Though the film received negative reviews but actress got positively reviewed. “Kriti Kharbanda looks fresh and pretty and manages to play the part of Pragati in a fairly convincing way,” Rediff.com wrote. So despite not being a successful venture, Kriti ended up getting fame and invitations for new projects.
Next, Kriti made her kannada debut with Chiru, a romantic action film. Her performance was appreciated by both critics and audience. The film was a major box office hit in 2010.

Breakthrough

Kriti rose to fame with her performance in Kannada film Googly. It was a romantic relationship comedy film in which she starred alongside the Kannada Actor Yash. Her performance was very well reviewed by everyone. Sify called her “The heart and soul of the film”. The film flooded the box office with collection of over 15 crores. As a result, it emerged as one of the highest-grossing Kannada films in 2013. Kriti’s fame got her voted for Bengaluru Times Most Desirable Woman of 2013.

Post the success of Googly , Kriti became even more sought-after actress for Kannad Cinema. Along with a lot of Kannada Film offers, Kriti received two offers for Bollywood films. But she refused because of her busy schedule with previously signed films. Up next, Kriti made appearance in the films Super Ranga and Tirupati Express. One of the latter was an action comedy and the next one was the remake of the Telugu film Venkatadri Express. Both of her films got very successful. Her performance in Super Ranga fetched her the Critics’ Best Actress Award at 4th South Indian International Movie Awards. Also, Kriti got her first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress.

Present

The Year 2017 saw Kriti in the films: Guest iin London, a comedy-drama and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, a romantic comedy. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Shaadi Mein zaroor Aana was a superhit box office success with earnings of 194 million. The following year, Kriti made a cameo appearance in Karwaan. She also made an appearance as a lead in the Kannada film Dalapathi. Her further two releases of the year were Veerey Ki Wedding and Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se, which was a box office failure. It collected merely 15 crores on the budget of 36 crores.

In 2019, Kriti starred in the fantasy comedy film Housefull 4. She played the double role of Rajkumari Meena and Neha. The film emerged as a major success with earnings of 280 crores. Post that we got to see her in Pagalpanti. Unfortunately, that was a big box office failure.
Recently, In 2020, Kriti starred in the action thriller drama Taish, released on Zee5. Her performance got wide level appreciation.
