Ram Kapoor was born on 1 September 1973 in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. His father, Anil Kapoor, worked as an Advertising and marketing executive; he died on 12 April 2021after battling cancer. And mother Rita Kapoor, a homemaker. He completed schooling at Scottish High School in Mumbai. Later completing his 10th board exams, Kapoor studied at Kodaikanal International School in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, South India. Later, he graduated from Sherwood College in Nainital. Further, he joined the Stanislavski-based acting academy in Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking.

Soon after returning to India, he started a career in television, debuting onscreen on the television serial Nyaay in 1997. Further came up with a small role on Heena, following he noted for his part in the serial Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai. Before this, he acted in several serials like Sangharsh (1999), Kavita (2000), and the family drama Ghar Ek Mandir. Ram played five roles in The Fifty Days of War – Kargil, which ran for ten days in New Delhi and was played tribute to heroes. Eventually, he made a cameo appearance in Mira Nair’s acclaimed film Monsoon Wedding. In 2004, He got his first successful role in a series of Vinay Kishore Khanna’s show Manshaa. Later with immense popularity with the Zee TV’s series Kasamh Se. Besides the tv series, Actor Ram also participated in several reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, and Welcome Baazi Mehman Nawaz Ki.
Filmography
With a role in the movie, Kargil becomes a debut character. Later, he also played a small part in the films Monsoon Wedding (2001), Missed Call (2005), Golmaal Returns (2008), and Udaan (2010). He played a father role in films like Student of the Year, Mere Dad ki Maruti, Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu, and a noted role in Humshakals. Through which he gave hit films like Santa Banta, Bar Bar Dekho, and Loveyatri. His latest movies are Thappad, Bhut Hua Samman, and The Bigg Bull.

Ram’s first digital debut with ALT Balaji’s romantic web series “Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat” in 2017. Recently played lead cast in Zee5’s series Abhay 2. He plays the role of a psycho killer criminal in the series.

Personal life
Kapoor married a Gautami Gadgil, whom he met in shooting sets of Ghar Ek mandir. And dated for a while and tied the knot on Valentine’s Day in 2003. They have two children, a daughter Sia Kapoor and a son Aks Kapoor. He also has a sister named Aruna Kapoor.
