Tiger Shroff is an Indian Actor, martial artist and a great dancer. He is the son of famous Indian film actor Jackie Shroff, working in Bollywood since 2014. His best works are seen in Heropanti , War and Baaghi series. Being one of the highest paid actors of India, Tiger has featured in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2018.

Early Life

Tiger Shroff, originally named Jai Hemant shroff was born on 2 march, 1990 to Jackie shroff, an indian film actor and Ayesha. He grew up in a family of four: parents and younger sister Krishna. Tiger is a complete hindu devotee of Lord shiva, which is the reason that he has attributed his physique to Lord Shiva.
Due to his experience in martial arts, he has frequently spent time helping other actors train for films.In 2014, he was awarded an honorary fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Career

Tiger shroff started his Bollywood journey in June 2012, when he signed a contract with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. It was for Heropanti, an action comedy film alongside debutant actress Kriti Sanon. After 2 years of work, The film was released in 2014. Despite receiving unfavourable reviews, the film made gross earnings of 726 million rupees worldwide. As a result, it emerged as a major commercial success. Tiger’s performance was widely appreciated, everyone liked his dancing skills, action sequences, tough physique and onerous stunts. Taran Adarsh wrote, “Tiger registers an impact in several sequences. He scores brownie points in action and stunts.” Also, Anupam Chopra reviewed a “very solid screen presence”. As a result, Tiger received his first Screen Award for Best Male Debut and IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male.

In 2015, Tiger showed his dancing skills in the album “Zindagi aa Raha hoon main”. It was a superhit album and actors gained appreciation.
The following year, Tiger teamed up with Nadiadwala for the action thriller Baaghi. The film was set against the backdrop of a martial arts school, in which he starred alongside Shraddha Kapoor.

With the worldwide earnings of 1.26 billion, Baaghi was the first major hit of Tiger Shroff. He received a broad level of appreciation for his physique, actions and stunts. The same year, he appeared in the superhero film A Flying Jatt, by Remo D’souza. Alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Tiger starred as a martial arts teacher who gains superpower. After which, Tiger appeared the dance film Munna Michael. Unfortunately, both of the films were unsuccessful at box office.

Breakthrough

The Year 2018 saw Tiger Shroff in Baaghi 2, a spiritual sequel to Baaghi. In this action thriller, Tiger starred as an rebellious army officer , alongside Disha Patani. The film emerged as a superhit success with earnings of ₹1.65 billion net domestically and over ₹2.5 billion worldwide. As a result, It became one of the top-grossing Bollywood films of the year. It proved to be a big turning point for Tiger’s career.

Present

In May 2019, Tiger played the lead role in Student of the year 2, a teen drama by Puneet Malhotra. It was his first mainstream romantic film in which he starred alongside two debutant actresses, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey. His performance received great reviews and

Later that year, Tiger appeared in the action thriller War, alongside Hritik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor. The film came up as a major critical and commercial success. It earned a collection of 4.75 billion Indian Rupees, with the highest opening of 530 million Indian Rupees. As a result, The film became the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Also, It ranks as Shroff’s highest-grossing release as of February 2020.

Recently in 2020, Tiger starred in the third part of the baaghi series, Baaghi 3, again paired up with Shraddha Kapoor. As it was a year with a high time of the Covid pandemic, it obviously affected the earnings of the film. Still, the film arose to be the highest first-day opener and second highest grosser of 2020. As a result, it made a worldwide collection of ₹1.37 billion.
