Atif Aslam | Success Story of the mesmerizing Pakistani Singer

Atif Aslam is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, actor, and composer, born on 12 March 1983 in Wazirabad, Pakistan. He has recorded songs for both the Indian and Pakistani music industries. Atif is known for his mesmerizing and magical voice, and he sings romantic songs. The Pakistani Government awarded Atif Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, the fourth highest honor in Pakistan.

Early Life

Atif Aslam was born on 12 March 1983 in Wazirabad, Punjab, Pakistan. He completed his schooling at Kimberly Hall School, Lahore, and then moved to St. Paul’s Cambridge School in Satellite Town. Atif says that he wanted to be a professional cricketer at that time.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Divisional Public School and College and then moved to Fazaia Inter College.

Career

On 17 July 2004, Atif Aslam released his debut album known as Jal Pari. The album was an instant hit, and it had a total of 11 tracks. Sarmad Abdul Ghafoor produced Jal Pari.

Atif’s third album, called Meri Kahani, was released in 2008 with 12 tracks and was produced by Sarmad Abdul Ghafoor.

Atif made his big Bollywood debut in 2008, and he recorded three versions of Pehli Nazar Me and Bakhuda Tumhi Ho from the Bollywood movies Race and Kismat Konnection, respectively. Pehli Nazar Me instantly became a mainstream hit, and Atif earned a lot of appreciation and love from the audience. The song also won him an IIFA Award.

In 2009, Atif Aslam recorded two songs for Bollywood romantic comedy film Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahani, and the songs were Tu Jaane Na and Tera Hone Laga Hoon.

Breakthrough

After the success of the songs from Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahani, Atif Aslam moved on to his next hit song, which was Mai Rang Sharbaton Ka from a movie starring Shahid Kapoor. The song was nominated for World Music Awards for “Best Song.” 

In 2014, a film starring Akshay Kumar called Entertainment came out. The movie featured two songs by Atif, known as Tera Naam Doon and Nahi Voh Saamne. The audience loved and appreciated the songs.

In 2015, Atif Aslam sang a composition of Sachin-Jigar called Jeena Jeena for the movie Badlapur. The song became an instant hit as soon as it came out; it topped various charts. Jeena Jeena also earned Atif his first nomination for the Filmfare award for Best Playback Singer.

In 2016, Tere Sang Yaara came out featuring in the movie Rustom. For this next hit, Atif collaborated with musician Arko Pravo. The song topped various charts around the country and became one of the biggest hits of 2016.

2018 became the biggest year of Atif Aslam’s career in Bollywood. He recorded 19 songs in one year, including some hits of the year like Tere Liye, O Saathi, and Dekhte Dekhte. 

Acting Career

Atif Aslam made his debut in a Pakistani film called Bol in 2011, and he starred alongside Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. 

Recently, he has made his Television debut with the series Sang-e-Mah. It is a romantic series with Atif playing the male lead role of the character, Hilmand. The series first aired in January 2022.
