Joe Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born on 15 August 1989 in Arizona, United States. He began his career with the famous pop rock band known as Jonas Brothers. The band members consisted of Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas. In 2006, the band released their debut album, It’s About Time. Joe Jonas rose to fame by playing the lead in the Disney Channel movie series Camp Rock. The Jonas Brothers had two of their own series known as Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).

Early Life

Joe Jonas was born on 15 August 1989 in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States. He is the son of Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas. His father is a songwriter, musician, and former ordained minister at an Assemblies of God church, while his mother is a former sign language teacher and singer.

Joe grew up with an older brother, Kevin Jonas, and two younger brothers, Nick and Frankie Jonas. 

Breakthrough With Jonas Brothers

After signing with Hollywood Records, Jonas Brothers began working on their second album. The self-titled album came out on 7 August 2007. The album entered the top five of the Billboard 200 in the United States, selling over two million copies in the country.

Nick Jonas made his film debut in the Disney Channel movie Camp Rock. The film’s soundtrack was released on 17 June 2008 and sold 188,000 copies in its first week in the United States. The movie became a major hit for the network, receiving 8.86 million viewers.

The band’s success became wider after their third album, A Little Bit Longer, came out. It is Jonas Brother’s highest-selling album to date.

Jonas Brothers Split and Solo Career

On 29 October 2013, it was officially confirmed that Jonas Brothers were splitting up for good. After the split, Joe Jonas began working on his solo career. He began working with producers such as Malay and Mattman & Robin.

While working, Joe was confused if he wanted to go solo or start a new band. After a lot of thinking, he began a band with former tour mates Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle. The group was named DNCE, misspelling the word ‘dance.’

In 2015, DNCE’s debut single came out known as Cake By The Ocean. Their debut self-titled album came out later in the same year. It reached seventy-nine on the Billboard 200. 

In 2018, Joe Jonas became a judge on the Australian version of The Voice after being a mentor for one year in the American version. 

Jonas Brothers Reunion

In January 2019, there were rumors that the Jonas Brothers were reuniting. On 28 February 2019, Jonas Brothers officially made the announcement of their return and the new single Sucker. It came out the next day. The band’s fifth album Happiness Begins came out on 7 June 2019.

In February 2022, Joe Jonas made the announcement of DNCE’s return. Their collaboration with Kygo, Dancing Feet, came out on 25 February 2022.

Personal Life

In 2008, Joe Jonas began dating singer-songwriter Taylor Swift for a few months. He dated American Gigi Hadid in 2015, and she was co-director of the Cake By The Ocean music video.

Joe began dating English actress Sophie Turner in 2016. They got engaged in 2017. The couple’s wedding took place on 1 May 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are parents to two daughters.
