Tupperware is an American Company which focuses on products like kitchen and household products. It has its headquarters in Kissimmee, Florida, United States. The brand is famous for its innovation and smart advertising among the customers from the very start of its journey.

History of Tupperware

Tupperware Brand Corporation also known as Tupperware founded in the year 1946. Founded by Earl Tupper and his wife in South Grafton, Massachusetts. Later they purchased 1000 acres of land. It also shifted its headquarters from South Grafton, Massachusetts to Kissimmee, Florida, United States. Tupperware also known for its design-focused storage, serving and food preparation solutions for the kitchen and home.
The company’s aim was to develop a product that would keep the food fresh for a longer period of time. In the early 1950s, Brownie Wise joined Tupper Corporation as a ‘Party’ concept. And the party concept was so successful the Party became the company’s only form of distribution. The Tupperware Brands Corporation global direct seller listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

Design

Chemist Earl had a brilliant idea of creating an airtight seal for plastic storage containers. He had this idea while working in a plastics factory. He got the inspiration for air-tight containers from cans which are used to hold paint and the amazing air-tight feature. Earl wanted to make this specific type of container to help families during the war to save money on costly food waste. And eventually, Earl Tupper was successful in making this type of container.
The company’s products are unique and at the same time eco-friendly and are manufactured using virgin plastic which makes them durable. Tupperware is microwave safe, and because of the durability factor, it is reused which reduces environmental wastage and pollution. Tupperware claims to be free of BPA products, making it safe for the environment and for people to use long term.

Success

After their successful initial years, they opened their Tupperware in South Africa in the year 1964. Tupperware expanded into Europe. By 1965, the company had a presence in six European countries and then launched in Singapore, Japan, and Australia. Tupperware Brands expanded to almost 100 countries around the world under seven brands connected to it. The Tupperware brands are Avroy Shlain, BeautiControl, Fuller, NaturCare, Nutrimetics, and Nuvo. In the year 2008 due to huge success in developing countries like China, India and other countries. The company received “Most Favored Brand by Women” and “Company with the Best Corporate Face.”

The company offers great products and also known worldwide for its quality and innovation. This makes the brand stand out and easy to sell. Tupperware has won prestigious worldwide design awards and recognition. It also, includes the International Design Excellence Awards, Red Dot Design Award, IF Seal Award, Good Design Award and Green Good Design Award. In 2010, the company ranked equal to #2 in Fortune’s Most Admired Home equipment and furnishings section.
