Abish Mathew | A multi-talented, highly influenced Indian comedian

Abish Mathew is mainly known for his show “The Son of Abish,” which got a million views for great comedy humor on YouTube. The First Indian YouTube star is now a famous comedian, actor, Content Creator, Indian chess player, host, and writer. Too many things in one man are a blessing for the Indian entertainment industry. 

The early life of Abish Mathew

Abish Mathew was born in Kerala on 28^th February 1978. He completed his schooling at Fr. Agnel School, NewDelhi, and graduated from Ram Lal Anand College, Delhi. Further, he was a member of St.Mary’s Churin Noida. 

Journey through Abish Career

He started as a radio jockey on Red FM in Delhi. Later with his father’s inspiration, he entered the field of comedy, where he began a stand-up comedy show. He was part of the AIB(All India Bakchod) and worked with Tanmay Bhatt and others. 

Moving forward, he started his show in 2015, “Son of Abish,” where he invites a couple of celebrities over and has fun games, tasks, and much fun talking. He has been running this successfully with more than eight seasons of 10-12 episodes.

Furthermore, he made the Bollywood industry debt with a small but significant impact in the movie Meri Pyaari Bindu in 2017 as Bubla’s friend. 

Then, he made a Prolific presence in “Journey of a Joke,” a show showcasing how comedians to craft and develop a particularly famous bit until it appears perfect, polished, and natural. An ideal performance for diehard comedy fans to get a glimpse into just how much work comedians put in to get the smallest of laughs.

Amazon prime shows

In 2018, Abish started a stand-up comedy special on amazon prime as ‘Whoop,’ which featured his observations growing up as a Delhi Malayali. He recently began as a host and performer in Comicstaan, an amazon exceptional stand-up comedy show. 

Being a great comedian, Abish performed in one more amazon show, The Improviser- Something from Nothing, the show which is of a famous improv comedy collective. He also hosted and wrote content for many shows from different sources like Netflix and Amazon’s brand new shows.

Personal life and achievements

Abish married an actor and YouTuber, Archana Kavi, on 23 January 2016 in Vallarpadam Church, Kerala. They separated in 2021.

He was being performed around 10000+ shows worldwide in different places like New York, Canada, and the prestigious Utrecht International Comedy Festival (Holland). And he collaborated with many YouTubers. 

He won awards like “ One of The Popular Stand Up Comedian.” Forbes India under 30. He also worked with Indian comedy companies like East India Company and Papa CJ Comedy Company.

His YouTube channel has 1.09million subscribers. And known for the comedy talk ” Son Of Abish ” and “YouTube Originals Series,” which have more than 10 million views. His favorite video is ” Son Of Abish feat. Zakir Khan & Taapsee Pannu,” and it’s crossed more than 11 million views on YouTube.

It’s been 11 years he has been entertaining his fans around the world with various shows with uniqueness. Looking forward to more comedy shows and his successful journey of him in the entertainment field.
