Ally Brooke | Success Story Of The Remarkable American Singer

Ally Brooke is an American singer born on 7 July 1993 in Texas, United States. She was a member of Fifth Harmony. After the band split up, Ally establishes herself as a solo artist. She released the single Perfect with DJ Topic in January 2018. In March 2018, she sang a medley of songs from Oscar-winning films at the red carpet pre-show of the 90th Academy Awards.

Early Life

Ally Brooke was born on 7 July 1993 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. She has an older brother named Brandon. She is of Mexican descent but did not grow up speaking Spanish, as her parents decided to prevent her from discrimination in school. Ally attended Cornerstone Christian Elementary School in San Antonio and completed her high school education through home-schooling.

The X Factor Journey

Ally Brooke auditioned for The X Factor as a solo artist. She sang On My Knees by Jaci Velasquez. For her Bootcamp round, she sang against Julia Bullock singing Knocking On Heaven’s Door. She was eliminated during the boot camp round of the competition. Still, She was brought back along with Dinah Jane, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello to form the group now known as Fifth Harmony. The group advanced to the live shows and finished in third place.

Time With Fifth Harmony

Simon Cowell signed Fifth Harmony to his label. The group’s first EP, Better Together, came out in October 2013. They released their debut album in January 2015 called Reflection.

Fifth Harmony’s second album, 7/27, came out in May 2016. Work From Home, the album’s lead single, peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 10 on several international charts. Work From Home became the first song from a girl group to get into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in eight years. 

The group’s third album, Fifth Harmony, they first as a foursome after Cabello’s departure in December 2016, was released in August 2017. The album marked the first time the group could co-write and have agency over the creative direction of an album. In March 2018, the group decided to take an indefinite hiatus to grow as individual artists and pursue solo ambitions.

Solo Career

In April 2018, Ally Brooke started working on her debut solo album. Low Key came out at the lead single on 31 January 2019. Her second single from the album was Lips Don’t Lie.

In May 2020, Brooke revealed the cover of her upcoming memoir, Finding Your Harmony. The book hit the shelves on 13 October 2020. The memoir covers aspects of her life, including her childhood and rise as a solo artist.
