Amrita Rao is an Indian actress and Model who is working since 2002, predominantly in Telugu and Tamil Cinema. She debuted with the romantic film Ab ke baras and gained wonderful reviews as well as a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Born in Pune, Maharashtra, Amrita Rao is the daughter of Deepak Rao, an advertising agency owner and Kanchan Rao. She grew up in a family of four: her parents and twin sister Prateeka Rao. Being a descendant of a traditional Konkani family, her grandfather Amrit was a freedom fighter and she is named after him.

As a result, it became Amrita’s biggest commercial success to date along with being one of the highest-grossing films of the year. In 2013, Amrita appeared in Jolly LLB, a comedy courtroom drama. Both the film and her performance gained positive reviews. As a result, she earned National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
