Raqesh Bapat | Sixteenth most desirable man of Maharashtra

Raqesh Bapat is an Indian actor and Model working since 2001. With his debut film Tum bin, he rose to fame. He also did numerous commercials including Wrigley’s gum and Colgate. Most notable of his films are: Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai, vrundavan , Savita Damodar Paranjape and television shows are : Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar , Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? and Qubool Hai (2014).

Early Life

Born on September 01, 1978, Raqesh Bapat is the son of an Army personal (father) and school principal (mother). He has not revealed the names of his family members. Raqesh became a part of the University of Mumbai for the degree course Master of Business Administration.

Being an artist, Raqesh is a great painter and sculptor as well. He won national award at the junior level as a painter. Also, every year he created a sculpture of Ganpati on Ganesh Chaturthi. Before entering in film Industry, Raqesh participated in Mr. india Contest and came up as the first runner up.

Career

Raqesh Bapat made his acting debut in 2001 with the film Tum Bin, a romantic drama. Up next, He played the role of Gaurav in the musical romantic drama Dil Vil Pyar Vyar in 2002. His following appearances were made in the films Tumse Milke Wrong Number, Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaya and Naam Gum Jaayega.

Entertainment Industry

In 2005, Raqesh began making his career in the entertainment industry. He appeared in the Hindi television drama Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar. His wonderful performance and fame in the show earned him Indian Telly Award for Best Actor in a negative role.

The year 2008 saw Raqesh in the show Ek Packet Umeed that aired on NDTV Imagine. The story features four women of different genres who live under a roof. He was the only man in the show. As a result of popularity of the show, It gained The Indian Telly Awards for Best weekly programme. Following which, In 2010, Raqesh featured in an Indian supernatural television show Seven- The Ashvamedha Prophecy. It was a story that featured seven descendants and their journey of discovering their real capabilities.  Along with three Tele awards, the show won an ITA award.

In 2010, Raqesh became the male protagonist of the Television series Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?. It showed the stories of four women who had similar dark realities of life. This was the first show that featured a homosexual storyline. For the next two years, he worked in the show alongside actress Riddhi Dogra. After which the couple began dating in real life.
In 2011, Raqesh took entery in the television drama Simplly Sapney as a replacement of actor Gautam Rode. In 2013, Raqesh and Riddhi appeared in the dance reality show Nach Baliye.

Present

In 2019, Raqesh made an appearance in two Marathi films: WhatsApp Love and Mumbai Apli Ahe. The first one was a love story that featured him alongside actress Anuja Sathe. They played the role of a happily married couple Aditya and Anagha, where a twist occurs when he gets a WhatsApp message from an unknown number. The film received IMDb ratings of 7.9.
The second film was an action drama set in Mumbai. The story revolves around Raqesh’s character Raju was involved in criminal activities. And. Became a notorious don.
In the same year, he starred in the romantic thriller, Forever.

Recently, In 2021, Raqesh Bapat became a part of the reality show Bigg Boss OTT. To his fortune, he became third-runner up. Next to this, He made a wildcard entry in Bigg Boss 15 on day 35. But due to medical reasons, he walked out after a few days.
