Kriti Sanon | Success story of Bollywood’s diva

Kriti Sanon is an Indian actor and model, born on 27 July 1990. She made her entry into Bollywood with the role of Dimpy in Sajid Nadiadwala’s Heropanti in 2014 alongside Tiger Shroff. Since then, Kriti has done films with many big names of Bollywood, including Shah Rukh Khan.

Early Life

Kriti was born on 27 July 1990 in New Delhi to Rahul and Geeta Sanon, a physics professor at the University of Delhi. Kriti did her schooling at Delhi Public School, RK Puram, and later graduated with a bachelor’s in engineering. She did modeling in her college time, and after graduating she made it her career.

Career

Kriti Sanon did modeling before becoming an actress. She made her acting debut in a Telugu film known as Nenokkadine opposite the south Indian superstar Mahesh Babu in 2014. Later in the same year, she made her big Bollywood debut in Heropanti, directed by Sabbir Khan. She acted opposite Tiger Shroff, son of famous Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff.

In 2015, Kriti landed a role in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale. She acted along with the big names of Bollywood like Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Boman Irani, and Varun Dhawan. The film was a big hit at the box office, it became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. This was Kriti Sanon’s breakthrough.

After that, Kriti did a film called Raabta with Sushant Singh Rajput. The film failed critically.

In 2017, Kriti did a role of a simple small-town girl in Bareilly ki barfi opposite Ayushman Khurrana. The film got much better reviews than her previous project.

In 2019, Kriti Sanon was seen in two films by Vijan. One is Luka Chuppi, a Hindi comedy film about live-in relationships. In this film, Kriti is the female lead opposite Kartik Aryan. 

The other is Arjun Patiala along with Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh. This movie did well at the box office.

Breakthrough

After a series of partially successful films, Kriti Sanon got her big breakthrough in Housefull 4, the fourth movie in the Housefull franchise. She starred in a multi-starrer film with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, and Pooja Hegde. It was a major success at the box office and did a business of more than 300 crores.

In 2021, Kriti played a role of an aspiring actress who later becomes a surrogate mother and gets stuck in a series of emotions and drama. The film is known as Mimi and it was a turning point in her career. Unfortunately, Mimi did not get theatrical release due to the Covid 19 pandemic, it was released on OTT platforms like Netflix and Jio Cinema. Kriti got a lot of appreciation for her role in Mimi.

Upcoming Projects

Kriti Sanon will be seen reuniting with her debut partner Tiger Shroff in Ganpath, set to release in December 2022. She will act as Sita with south Indian legend Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan in Adipurush. Kriti will also team up again with Varun Dhawan for Bhediya and Kartik Aryan for Shehzada.

Kriti has recently announced on her Instagram that she will be starting her entrepreneurial journey with The Tribe which is a community that helps people to stay fit and healthy.
