In 2012, her debut album Ora debuted at number 1 in UK. She became the first artist with the most number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart.
Born on November 26, 1990, Rita Ora, full named Rita Sahatçiu Ora, is the daughter of Besnik Sahatçiu, pub owner and Vera, a psychiatrist. Born in Pristina, SFR Yugoslavia, she grew up in a family of five: her parents, elder sister Elena and younger brother Don.
She was named as Rita Sahatçiu but her parents added Ora to the family surname to make it easier to pronounce. Her family relocated to London in 1991 to London, England when she was a baby. Rita attended Sylvia Young Theatre School, a performing arts school.
Rita Ora began her musical journey by performing at open mic sessions around London. Also, she performed occasionally at her father’s pub.
