He even went through homelessness for a few nights. He also sold his dog as he could barely feed him. It was a challenging time. Going through so many hardships did not break his will to succeed. He was willing to suffer and make ends meet as long as he had a chance to make it big.

Stallone’s first step toward success

After three days, he finally came out with a hand that would eventually be made into the movie ‘Rocky.’ There were still more obstacles to overcome. Sylvester did not have a producer. But his luck finally turned in his favor. While attending a casting call for a film, he got an opportunity to talk to Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler. Even though he did not get the job, he told them about his interests and ideas. The rest is history.

The filmmakers offered him around $300,000 to make the movie. He decided to star in the lead role of Rocky. The Rocky movie has since gone on to become a smash hit all over the world. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards and won the Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Directing, and Best Film Editing.
