Afsana Khan is an Indian playback singer, actress and songwriter. She is popularly known for her tracks “Titliaan” and “Jodaa”. Afsana also participated in the popular reality show Bigg Boss Season 15.

Biography

Born on 12th June 1994 in Badal, Punjab, Afsana is 27 years old as of 2022. She did her schooling at village Badal’s Senior Secondary School.

Early Life and Family

Afsana Khan was born in a family of singers and inherited her voice from her father and grandfather. Her father passed away when she was quite young. So, she began singing from a very young age to provide financial support to her family.

Problems faced by Afsana in the beginning of her career

Afsana, in an interview, revealed that she did not know any Bollywood songs when she appeared for the audition of ‘Rising Star’. She instantly prepared the song ‘Jag Suna Suna’ from the film ‘Om Shanti Om‘ and got selected for the show.

Career of Afsana Khan

Afsana started her career in 2012 with the singing reality show “Voice of Punjab” Season 3 and reached Top 5 of the show. She next participated in “Rising Star” Season 1 where she ended at 7th position.

Afsana Khan has worked with various music labels and has sung numerous Punjabi songs. Her most popular songs include “Kamaal Karte Ho”, “Zakham”, “Titliaan” and “Behri Duniya”. Her latest song “Behri Duniya” has crossed 24 million views within a few weeks of release.

Afsana also performs at various music concerts in Punjab and other Indian states.

She also featured in a few music albums such as “Tere Laare,” Amrit Maan Latest Punjabi Song, and New Punjabi Song 2022. Further, in recent times featured in “Bechari” album songs along with Karan Kundrra, Divya Agarwal, and Nirmaan.

Life of celebrities are incomplete without controversies and Afsana Khan is no exception to that. Once, when she visited her school and sang the lines of her song Dhakka, the video suddenly became viral. Consequently, a complaint was filed against her stating that the song prompted gun culture.

Afsana Khan gained popularity after singing the song “Jatta Salaam”. Since then she has received much appreciation for her voice. She also gained huge recognition after participating in the Indian reality show Bigg Boss. Her co-contestants were big fans of her voice and often asked her to sing a few lines from her song.
