Ankita Lokhande | Success Story of the pretty television personality

One of the highest television actresses, Ankita Lokhande, appears in Indian TV Shows and Films since the year 2006. She debuted with the drama show Pavitra Rishta, which starred on ZeeTv. The show highlighted Ankita as a pretty expressive actress. All throughout the show she gained popularity at wide level and earned awards and recognitions.

Early Life

Born on 19th December 1984, Ankita Lokhande is the eldest of the four kids of Shashikant, a news reporter and Vandana, a school teacher. Brought up in a small Marathi family of 5 peoples, she lived with her parents, younger brothers Suraj & Arpan and sister Jyoti.
Belonging from Indore, Ankita finalised her schooling and education from Indore itself. From a very young, Ankita felt attracted to acting and modelling. During the college period, She actively participated in Ganpati Utsav and Navratri festive. Following graduation, Ankita enrolled at Indore’s Frankfinn Institute for receiving air hostess training. Along with it, she kept appearing in auditions for shows. Fortunately, she selected for the talent hunt show “Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj”. She received the title ‘Best dancer’ in the show.

Career

Ankita Lokhande began her Bollywood journey in the year 2006 after the reality show “Zee Cinestars ki Khoj” ended. Initially, the actress appeared in Television shows then gradually made a career in the film industry.

Television works

Ankita Lokhande, after the talent show, fetched a television show for herself. She played the lead character of Archana in the Romantic drama Pavitra Rishta. It was an Ekta Kapoor show featured on Zee Tv. Her performance and the chemistry with lead actor Sushant Singh Rajput were widely appraised. They received several awards for this show, including the 3rd Boroplus Gold Awards, Indian Television Academy Awards and Star Guild Awards. The couple began dating in real life.

While shooting Pavitra Rishta, Ankita participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 4. Also, in 2011, she took part in Comedy Circus.
A generation leap happened in Pavitra Rishta in 2013, after which Ankita began playing the role of Archana’s granddaughter, along with the former part of Archana. The series ended in 2014.

Film Industry

After the show, Ankita Lokhande took a break of two years from acting. In this period, she broke up with Sushant. She was to be cast in the big film Padmaavat by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But later, it was done by Deepika, and Ankita stated her inability to do the film.

In the year 2018, Ankita announced her appearance in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. She played the role of Jhalkaribai: a warrior in the film with Kangana Ranaut. The epic drama was based on the real-life story of Rani Laxmi Bai, The Queen of Jhansi. It premiered on Republic Day and received appraisals on a significant level. It performed very well at the box office, and as a result, it became the first commercial success for Ankita.

In 2020, Ankita appeared in the third film of the Baaghi series. She played the character of Shraddha Kapoor’s elder sister. When the film released, the covid wave approached. As a result, It badly affected the film’s performance at the box office.
