Arjun Kapoor | One of the most entertaining actors

Arjun Kapoor is a 37-year-old Indian actor who works in Bollywood since 2012. He debuted with the film Ishqzaade, produced by Yash Raj Films. His performance made him win Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut and also Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Male. Most famous of his films include : Gunday, 2 states, Ki & Ka and Mubarakan.

Early Life

Born on June 26, 1985, Arjun Kapoor is the son of Boney Kapoor, a film producer and Mona Shourie Kapoor, an entrepreneur. His grandfather Surinder Kapoor was also a film producer and Actors Anil and Sanjay Kapoor are his uncles. Coming to siblings, Arjun has a sister Anshula and two stepsisters Khushi and Janhvi Kapoor, who were born after his father remarried to actress Sridevi.

Arjun attended Arya Vidya Mandir School, Mumbai for his schooling. He continued there till 11th standard and left studies after that because he failed the examinations. Being the descendant of a family that belongs Bollywood, it was easy for him to decide to enter into Film industry.

Career

The very first job that Arjun Kapoor did in Film Industry was assisting the director Nikhil Advani on the film Kal ho Naa ho in 2003. His second assistance was also to Advani for the film Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love in 2007. Following this, he worked as an assistant producer for the two films: No entry in 2005 and Wanted in 2007, which were productions of his father. Later, Arjun Kapoor signed Three Film contract with the famous production house Yash Raj Films.

Debut

Arjun finally made his acting debut in 2012 through the film Ishqzaade. The film featured the love story between a son and daughter of a Hindu and Muslim political family, respectively, in which he starred alongside Parineeti Chopra. Ishqzaade was a successful film with earnings of over 670 million worldwide. Arjun and Parineeti’s chemistry and Performance were appraised. As a result, He won Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut.

The second project by Yash Raj Films was the 2013 action-thriller Aurangzeb, titled on the name of a Mughal Emperor. He portrayed two estranged twin brothers, Ajay and Vishal, who end up in each other’s places as part of a huge conspiracy to overthrow their biological father’s empire. Arjun was reviewed well but the film underperformed at the box office.

Breakthrough

Arjun Kapoor completed the three-film contract with Gunday, a criminal action film of Yash Raj Production. Alongside Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh, his performance was positively reviewed. Gunday proved to be a commercial success with worldwide earnings of 1.2 billion.

After finally completing this three-film deal, Arjun collaborated with Sajid Nadiadwala and Karan Johar and he starred alongside Alia Bhatt in the film 2 states. Based on Chetan bhagat’s novel , It dictated a love story of a guy from north and a girl from south. The story, chemistry and performances of both Alia and Arjun were appreciated. The film earned critical acclaims and more than 1.02 billion. As a result, it emerged as Arjun’s biggest commercial success so far. He also received a nomination for IIFA Award for Best Actor. The following year, he starred in the filn Tevar, produced by his uncle Sanjay. It was a remake of Telugu film Okkadu, in which He appeared alongside Sonakshi Sinha. But unfortunately the film was failure, critically and commercially.
Later, Arjun made appearances in the films Ki & Ka, Half Girlfriend and Mubarakan. Along with that He also hosted a stunt based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Present

Again uniting with Parineeti Chopra, Arjun Kapoor starred in the romantic comedy film Namaste England, a spin-off of Namastey London in 2018. His character falls in love with an aspiring Jewellery designer. Unfortunately, the film was a big flop and received negative reviews. NDTV wrote, “Seriously, one more film of this quality and the careers of Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra could be in grave jeopardy”.
The following year, 2019, was also very disappointing for Arjun Kapoor. He starred in two films, India’s Most Wanted and Panipat, Both of which were commercial failures.

Presently, In 2021, He appeared in the comedy-drama, Sardar ka Grandson released on Netflix. After which, he appeared in the horror comedy, Bhoot Police. And as of 2022, Arjun Kapoor is working for the romantic thriller Ek villian returns.
