Asim Riaz | Success Story of the Indian Model

Like any other career, modelling too takes a lot of hard work, consistency, and dedication. Though they are only a few, who made it big in modelling, there a lot of inspiring stories. For many, modelling has been a foundation to make their way towards television and movie industry. Asim Riaz is an Indian model, well known for his appearance in the 13^th season of the famous Bollywood reality show Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan. He is one of the contestants who built a mass following for himself.

EARLY LIFE

Born on 13 July 1993 in Jammu & Kashmir, India, into a Muslim family. His father, Riaz Ahmed Choudhary was a retired special secretary to the Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Shabnam Naz is a homemaker. Brother Umar Riaz, a general surgeon by profession, also appeared in Bigg Boss on the 15^th season.  His sister, Mahvish Choudhary works at the Department of education.

Upon acquiring primary education from Delhi Public School, he pursued graduation in the marketing. He currently lives in Mumbai as it serves as center for fashion, entertainment, and commercial industries.

CAREER

Television

Riaz started his career as a model by appearing in the television commercials like Blackberrys, Royal Enfield, Numero Uno, etc. Also, he was amongst the background models in an ad that featured Sharukh Khan. He gave a guest appearance in the Ekta Kapoor’s produced film “Main Tera Hero – 2014” whose protagonist was Varun Dhawan. Asim Riaz is a fitness freak. Earlier, most of his posts on Instagram were his bodybuilding videos. During his journey in Bigg Boss also, he used to spend most of the time in gym doing workouts.

Apparently, he appeared in the Bigg Boss season 15, which took his fame to another level. He was given quirky titles like Angry Young Man, Ladies ka Ladla, Sab ka Favourite, Cute smile and Hot Physique, etc. With his charisma and game play, he was able to make it through finale and stood as runner-up on 15 February 2020. After this, his followers on Instagram crossed 5 million.

Musical Career

Besides television, he was featured in a few Hindi and Punjabi music videos which were all released on YouTube in 2020. Rajat Nagpal, the Indian music composer, casted Asim in three of his music videos – Kalla Sohna Hai, Khyaal Rakhya Ka, Teri Gali. His other musical videos are – Afsos Karoge by Sanjeev & Ajay, Badan Pe Sitare by Rahul Singh, Veham by Manan Bhardwaj.

CONTROVERSIES

Apparently, he proposed his co-contestant Himanshi Khuranna while they were in the Bigg Boss. Later, they both started dating each other upon returning from the Bigg Boss house.
As per sources, it is heard that Asim has refused to host Bigg Boss 14 on the Weekend ka Vaar episode without Salman Khan as he felt that nobody could do better than Salman Sir.

Besides all the controversies and struggles, he stands to be an inspiration. He also shared a few instances of his struggles which he faced in the initial days of his stay in Mumbai to his co-contestants in Bigg Boss.
