Bella Hadid is a model who has been in the industry for four years. She has appeared on twenty-seven international Vogue magazine covers. In August 2014, she was signed to IMG Models. During NY Fashion Week 2015, Bella made her debut after walking for prestigious designers, including Anna Sui and Marc Jacobs.
Early life
Isabella Khair Hadid was born on October 9, 1996, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington. Her father is a Palestinian Jordanian real estate developer, while her mother is a former Dutch model. She claims descent from Daher Al Omer, Prince of Nazareth and Sheik of Galilee, through her father.
Hadid has an older sister, Gigi, and a younger brother, Anwar. They have two older paternal half-sisters, Marielle and Alana. She spent her childhood on a ranch in Santa Barbara before moving to Beverly Hills after ten years.
Hadid was an equestrian as a teenager and dreamed of competing in the 2016 Olympics. But later, she competed in equitation, which isn’t a part of the Olympics. Hadid was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease along with her mother and brother in 2012.
Hadid graduated from Malibu High School in 2014 and then went to study photography at the Parsons School of Design. She quit her studies to focus on modeling. But she has expressed an interest in returning to the field of fashion photography after her modeling career. Hadid also expressed interest in acting.
Career of Bella Hadid
Hadid began modeling when she was 16. She did commercial projects for Flynn Skye, Lesa Amoore’s “Swan Settings,” and Holly Copeland’s “Smoking Hot.”
Hadid also modeled for Hanna Hayes’ Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. Later, she worked for the campaign of Jesse Jo Stark at Chrome Hearts.
Hadid signed to IMG Models on August 21, 2014. She walked for Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection. In late 2015, at New York Fashion Week, she walked for Diane von Fürstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Marc Jacobs, and closed Jeremy Scott’s show. Later in December, Hadid made her first cover appearance in Jalouse Magazine. On day 27 of LOVE Magazine’s Love Advent Calendar, she was featured in the magazine. In August, she starred in Victoria’s Secret Pink Holiday campaign, alongside models Rachel Hilbert and Devon Windsor.
2019 and present
In February 2019, at Paris Fashion Week, she walked for Redemption, Haider Ackerman, and Off-White. She then walked for CR Runway’s 90th Anniversary show alongside Irina Shayk and Joan Smalls. Later in March, she starred on the cover of Vogue Russia, Vogue Greece, and Vogue Japan. Also, in June, she appeared on the covers of ELLE France and ELLE. And then, in July, she also appeared on Vogue España’s Vogue Spain cover.
In February 2020, at New York Fashion Week, she walked for Tom Ford, Brandon Maxwell, Oscar de la Renta, Rodarte, Khaite, and Michael Kors. And then, in September, she appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia, Vogue Korea, and Vogue Greece. Later in July, at Cannes Film Festival, her Maison Schiaparelli haute couture gown cut low and wide to expose her bare chest attracted considerable coverage. In February 2021, Hadid walked for Givenchy’s Fall campaign.
