Leigh-Anne Pinnock | Success Story Of The Famous British Singer

Leigh-Anne Pinnock is an English singer and songwriter. She was born on 4 October 1991 in Buckinghamshire, England. She was a former member of the British girl band Little Mix, the highest-selling girl band in the world. While in Little Mix, Leigh-Anne released her documentary Leigh-Anne: Race, Pop & Power in 2021, which earned critical acclaim. At the 26th National Television Awards, it received a nomination for “Best Authored Documentary.”

Early Life

Leigh-Anne Pinnock was born on 4 October 1991 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England. She was raised in a Caribbean household by her mixed-race parents Deborah Thornhill and John Pinnock. She had two older sisters Sian-Louise and Sairah.

Before becoming a part of Little Mix and getting famous, Leigh-Anne used to waitress at Pizza Hut. To get more experience in singing, she joined a youth club choir run by Jay Blade. He is also the trustee of Leigh-Anne’s charity The Black Fund which she founded in 2021.

Journey With Little Mix

has released six albums and one greatest hits album with the band DNA (2012), Salute (2013), Get Weird (2015), Glory Days (2016), LM5 (2018), Confetti (2020), and Between Us (2021).

Little Mix released their debut single ‘Wings’ in August 2012. A few months later, their debut album DNA came out in November. The album had a fantastic breakthrough. It charted no.3 in both Ireland and UK. In January 2013, the group signed a deal with Columbia Records.

The debut album DNA came out with three singles, ‘Wings,’ ‘DNA,’ and ‘Change Your Life. It was an amazing start to the journey of girls as a band. In the US, ‘Wings’ charted number 79 on Billboard Top 100. On 4 March 2013, ‘How ya Doin’ was announced as the final single from DNA. It featured Grammy-winning artist Missy Elliot.

Hiatus

Unfortunately, on 2 December 2021, Little Mix announced they would take a short break after their Confetti Tour. The gap is due to the focus on their personal lives and health. Although, the group promised to come back together in the future. The band’s last performance in o2 Arena, London, had live streaming. It was known as Little Mix: The Last Show (for now…). 

The news of hiatus disheartened the fans, but the band’s constant promises to come back stronger and better gave them hope. 

Personal Life

In 2016, Leigh-Anne Pinnock started dating professional footballer, Andre Gray. The couple got engaged on the fourth anniversary in 2020. 

In May 2021, Leigh-Anne announced her pregnancy and on 16th August 2021, she gave birth to twins. The family resides in Surrey, England.
