Lisa is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer, and songwriter. Her success story is about being persistent and positively taking criticism. Lisa is one of the most famous singers in the world. Also, she had successfully broken some records with the release of her solo album. She has been part of the K-pop band BLACKPINK since 2016.

Early Life

On March 27, 1997, Lalisa was born in Buriram Province, Thailand. Her birth name was Panpriya Manobal. Later, she changed her name to Lalisa on the advice of a fortune teller to bring in prosperity. She completed her secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II. She also started taking dance classes at the age of four.

Throughout her childhood, Lisa competed regularly in dance contests and joined an eleven-member dance crew, We Zaa Cool, alongside BamBam of Got 7. In 2009, Lisa also participated in a singing contest as a school representative for “Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand “, where she finished as a runner-up.

Later in 2010, she auditioned to join South Korean record label YG Entertainment in Thailand. Among 4,000 applicants, she was the only individual to qualify, which prompted the CEO to offer Lisa a chance to become a YG trainee. Also, in November 2013, she appeared in Taeyang’s music video for the single “Ringa Linga, where she was one of the background dancers, alongside members of iKon and Winner.

Career

In March 2015, Lisa undertook her first modeling job for street-wear brand Nona9on. Following the South Korean cosmetics brand Moonshot in 2016. Then in 2016, Lisa debuted as one of the four members of South Korean group Blackpink. Later, Lisa was cast by the MBC military variety program Real Man 300. She was also chosen as a permanent member as part of the Korea Army Academy edition from September 21, 2018. Since its debut, the show marked her first permanent role on a television program.

On November 5, 2018, she unveiled her YouTube channel, Lilifilm Official, focusing on traveling and lifestyle alongside dance performance. Later in March 2020, Lisa served as the dance mentor throughout the iQIYI’s Chinese girl group survival program Youth With You Season 2. After that, in February 2021, she returned as the dance mentor in the Chinese boy group survival show Youth With You Season 3.

In September 2020, Lisa’s debut single album Lalisa and its lead single were released. Upon release, she broke many world records. Later in October 2021, Lisa confirmed her collaboration with DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion by dropping a teaser of the song. Entitled “SG” included songwriting and composing credits for Lisa and was released on October 22 alongside the music video.
