Early life and struggles

Arshad Warsi was born on 19 April 1968 in Mumbai, India. He studied at a boarding school called Barnes School. At the age of 14, Warsi was orphaned and struggled to make a living in Mumbai. After 10th, he left school. Due to financial hardships, he started working as a cosmetics salesman at just the age of 17. He went door-to-door and sold products. This period was challenging for Warsi. During this time, he developed a passion for dancing and got a chance to join Akbar Sami’s dance group. In 1987, he choreographed two films, Thikana and Kaash.

In 1991, Warsi won the Indian dance competition. To add to this, he also came fourth in the 1992 World Dance championship held in London. Warsi was 21 at the time. This encouraged him to open his own dance studio called “Awesome”. He formed a dance troupe and met his future wife here. During this time, Jaya Bachchan offered him a role in a movie, marking the beginning of his acting career. Warsi overcame all the hurdles and followed his dreams. He never lost hope and made the most of every opportunity.

In 1996, Warsi made his film debut with Tere Mere Sapne, which became a commercial success. In 2003, he played the role of Circuit in Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. and rose to fame. This became a turning point in his career. Warsi received a Filmfare nomination for his role as Circuit. In the next few years, he played supporting roles in films including Sehar, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Salaam Namaste, and Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! In 2006, he starred in Anthony Kaun Hai? and Warsi’s performance as a conman won his critical acclaim. Next, he starred in Lage Raho Munna Bhai and won several awards, including his first Filmfare Award.

Warsi has acted in several hit comedy films such as Dhamaal, Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, Krazzy 4, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, Ishqiya, F.A.L.T.U, Double Dhamaal, Golmaal Again, and many more. In 2013, Warsi starred in his first solo hit, Jolly L.L.B. Naseeruddin Shah called him the best all-rounder actor of his generation. Boman Irani stated that Warsi is a natural and unique performer.
