Vikash Jaiswal is an Indian entrepreneur and the founder of Gammation Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Known for developing the game “Ludo King” in 2016. It was titled “No.1 Game of India” by MidDay. Vikash focuses on the development of the gaming industry and says, “there should be specialized courses focusing on game development under related streams like computer science or engineering.”
Belonging to Patna, Bihar, Vikash Jaiswal is the son of Madan Prasad Jaiswal and Prabhavati Jaiswal. From childhood, he was very passionate about video games. He used to visit game parlors at regular intervals. The most favorite of his games were Mario and road fighter.
After completing of schooling, Vikash attended MIT, Bulandshahar. He got a bachelor’s degree in Computer science engineering. During college, he took part in a Thesis, and created a video game called “eggy boy”. Named in PCQuest magazine as “Game of the month”.
After graduating in 2003, Vikash Jaiswal began working in the position of tech lead at Indiagames Ltd. For the next four years, he gave imparted his skills to their company. Post which Vikash resigned and inaugurated his own startup in 2008. With a team of merely seven members and an investment of 2.5 lakh, He began this gaming company called “Gametion”. Initially, They created online games for desktop users and had a good response. They attracted over 20 million unique users who visited their website regularly.
It was in 2013, that they began developing mobile games. Including the well-known Snake and Ladders, they created several other games and published them on Apple App Store. But these all were average until Ludo King came up.
The idea of creating a digital version of a local game had been in the mind of Vikash for a long time. It took him three years to execute that properly. The concept of four players playing with their individual dice was the key point in making the game click. Launched in December 2016, Ludo King made 120 million users worldwide in merely a year. Later, In the 2021 lockdown, more and more users began installing the app and checking it at regular intervals.
Ludo King has won several awards and recognitions including Mobile & Tablet Game: Arcade/Casual (International) in Gaming at the 19th FICCI FRAMES Best Animated Frames (BAF) Awards. Through popular vote on the Play store, The game became the Best casual game of 2018. Also, It was listed in the Top 3 downloaded games in India in 2018.
He has been recognized as “Icons of Navi Mumbai” by Economics Times. Gametion Technologies earned the ET Startup Award 2020, with recognition as a Bootstrap Champ of 2020. Analysts of the Gaming Industry praised Ludo King and said it was the first game among homegrown casual mobile games to have this high retention rate and user stickiness. They see Ludo as an example, that localized, casual Indian games which are simple to play if made with an effective user interface, can make players come back every day. Presently, Gammation is focusing on making people from all over the world connect through online games. Their team is working with developers from Iran and Indonesia and creating local versions of the games. The recent update of Ludo King says it will have a chat-based feature. So players can have a conversation with their opponents. They can add them as a friend and play more than once. Through this, people from different countries can connect conveniently.
Coming from the village to the capital and getting work, he learned a lot, and this fight gave him the strength to face any difficulties. In 2022 he was awarded Young Achiever’s Awards as Business Head by AdCloud Lab. Accordingly, in the IAA Leadership awards 2022, Vikash was rewarded as Marketer of the Year – Gaming. Ludo King, its flagship app, has about 50 million daily active users, up from 13-15 million.
